This game is constantly evolving and strangely addictive. If you like Sims, or building villages, or playing the markets, hoarding goods, or just building death traps for pirates this game is for you. The eventual goal of building a ship and escaping pales compared to the challenge of making it all work.
To make it work, you are going to have to tweek the behavior of your colonists a few times. Once you get them doing what you want, they will quickly finish any task and begin looking for new ways of getting into trouble. New problems are around every corner, and combinations of problems will vex you endlessly, but progress will be made.
This is probably one of the best game investments in terms of playability, value, and fun I have made in years.
940 hours of game play and I still come back to this game.
This game took my life. Although it was a insignificant 400 hours (as of I’m typing this), it overtopped all games I have played to this day. The game is extremely fun and you can experience it for yourself when you decide to explore cannibalism, organ-harvesting and turning your poor prisoners into literal potatoes!
There are many things you can do in the game and I can not spoil them. It is one of the more complicated games on the market, mostly because it was inspired by games such as Dwarf Fortress. Because of this complexity, it makes the game incredibly fun.
But if the base game wasen’t enough for you, then you have mods to try. I can’t begin to even explain how much fun they are too. I always want to add so many mods to my games that the game just breaks.
Play this game. You won’t regret it.
