Science Never Stops: You’re Going Too Far

MOD Desc
Science Never Stops: Ambition of the Cosmic
The base mod.

psa:
Mortar Accuracy is incompatible with the Bastion of Stability turret.

I am looking for suggestions for new content for SNS: AOTC and SNS: YGTF! I’m thinking about making a major update once SNS: AOTC (the main mod) gets 10K subscribers**. Just comment your ideas and I’ll put them in the ‘Things I want to do for later updates’ part of the Changelog if I think they might fit.

Don’t be shy about suggestions! I will take ALL suggestions seriously. (Yes, even jokes and ones you don’t have a complete vision of. I can always fill the gaps.)

**Don’t worry, I won’t hold anything hostage behind the sub goal, it’s just a promise that I WILL make something once AOTC hits 10K subs; there will be more updates even if we don’t reach that goal for a while, it just might take a little while longer (depending on what game I’m playing at the time. I tend to mod whatever game I’m playing at the moment.)

=-=-=-=

Note that the current preview image presented here is outdated and the actual mod’s sprites (primarily anything Cosmic-related is dark blue instead of red) may look somewhat different. The overall idea of the mod is kept, however.
Current version of the main mod is 2.3.1r4 ‘Ascendance to Rage’ tweak ‘Royal Flooring Patch’ hotfix ‘Turret Size Fix’ Changelog (Google Docs)[docs.google.com]

From the first moments of existence we were plagued with the teachings of the Old Gods. Oh, how I loathe those ‘Gods.’ We would ascend so much higher without those wretched things…

So why, if Science Never Stops, does the research?

Oh, and please note that anything in quotation marks are canonical to the lore of the civilization that made the cosmic stuffs in the base SNS: AOTC, and are in fact lore expansions on their backstory/their society/their techlevel/etc.

Welcome, to SCIENCE NEVER STOPS: YOU’RE GOING TOO FAR! This mod is just a reskinned version of the original SNS: AOTC to be a bit more… Evil.

PLEASE NOTE: THIS MOD AND ITS ORIGINAL(S) ARE MUTUALLY EXCLUSIVE: YOU MUST USE THIS MOD OR THE ORIGINAL(S) AND ONLY THAT ONE UNLESS YOU WANT THINGS TO POSSIBLY GO VERY, VERY WRONG. COMBINING THE MODS WILL VOID ANY BUG REPORTS! BEWARE!

With that said, let’s get into the meat of the mod.

SNS: YGTF features a collection of technologies, that get progressively more and more expensive until it reaches absolutely absurd levels. There are so many technologies, that they cannot all be listed here. Here’s a few snippets of information.

There are probably spoilers from the mod in here, so be wary.
* New materials that leave Vanilla materials in the dust, and seriously competes with some modded ones, too! (I’m coming after you, GlitterTech Titanium!)
*** Also comes with a fabric that surpasses all others (Hyperweave? How pathetic.)
* New sources of power that makes many modded power sources run for their money! (You ain’t got nothing on me, Rimefeller!)
* New weaponry that dominates the battlefield, even against other ultra-powerful mods with absurd weaponry (GlitterTech, I’m gonna kick your ♥♥♥! ARM THE LANCE!)
* Create stuff out of absolutely nothing! Combine a whole lot of time to create Cosmic Matter, and turn that Cosmic Matter into a variety of materials! (I’m too rich to care…)
* Multiple tiers/generations of the above buildings/weapons, to create even greater heights for the mod. Yes, even the stuff creator. (What? 100K Watts too little? Okay, you’ll want to see this…)
* Floor tiles. Pretty little clean tiles. Nuff said.
* Hydroponics basins that’re absolutely wicked.
* Armor that makes Power Armor look pathetic.
* A true endgame device that is both super duper expensive and so, so worth it.

Below is what’s changed in this spinoff mod.
* Many descriptions have been changed.
* Many names have been changed, including the renaming of anything Cosmic to Abyssal.
* Bonus lore of the past of the mysterious Ancients that originally made Cosmic Alloy (and in this reality Abyssal Alloy)
* Some jokes here and there. (One specific type of building I just go all out on… You’ll know it when you read it.)
* The Generation 1 Abyssal (cosmic in the base mod) Reactors now slightly cool a room instead of slightly warming it.

  • Texture warning – maybe a typo:Could not load UnityEngine.Texture2D at Things/Projectile/SNS/Bullet_Pinnacle in any active mod or in base resources.Verse.Log:Error(String, Boolean)Verse.ContentFinder`1:Get(String, Boolean)Verse.Graphic_Single:Init(GraphicRequest)Verse.GraphicDatabase:GetInner(GraphicRequest)Verse.GraphicDatabase:Get(Type, String, Shader, Vector2, Color, Color, GraphicData, List`1)Verse.GraphicData:Init()Verse.GraphicData:get_Graphic()Verse.ThingDef:b__268_0()Verse.LongEventHandler:ExecuteToExecuteWhenFinished()Verse.LongEventHandler:UpdateCurrentAsynchronousEvent()Verse.LongEventHandler:LongEventsUpdate(Boolean&)Verse.Root:Verse.Root.Update_Patch1(Root)Verse.Root_Entry:Update()
  • Yeah, you could make like a mini mod that requires SNS: YGTF – which Stuffs everything and done, Patch mods are awesome!Would be relitivly easy, but sorta tedious monotenous work, but would bring joy to other people who might not like to use your armors because they are kinda… weak, compared to other materials from other mods in comparrison. For instance, my ‘OP-G Leather’ from my mod on normal clothing, makes your armors, even the best of them, still look like it was something found in a junk yard :PWith one exception: they post shields, my material does not. :/ (yet)
  • Stuffed: Armores, Weapons, Buildings and the like.My mod, ‘OverPowered Gaming’ got some material that improves aiming, damage and the like for weapons, and boosts protection and the like for armors and so on. Would be awesome if i could make use of my own material coupled with the weapons/armors/turrets/buildings of this mod to improve them even more.Stuffed everything!Because, being able to influence the world around, makes the world bow to the void and beyond 😉
  • Personally, I would recommend SNS: AOTC or this reskin (SNS: YGTF) if you’re a heavily modded game that raises the tech ceiling significantly since the materials in SNS can be rather overpowered at times (especially once you’ve entered the balance-less Generation Omega) in comparison to vanilla.Honestly, most of the balance for SNS comes from the extreme amount of time that you have to pour into it–if you’re playing to get a ship into space quickly you probably won’t get far past Generation 2If you prefer a more vanilla-like playstyle, then go and download the original SNS as it still works with the latest versions and is pretty balanced for said vanilla playstyle from experience.tldr; This mod gains its most balance when playing heavily modded. Vanilla players looking for a balanced game should instead install the original Science Never Stops by Aion Algos.
  • Abyssal Alloy is mostly untouched (excluding its building health which was made to be superior to the likes of GlitterTech Titanium) in its original stats from the original SNS.Abyssal Alloy has a TON of stats, so this is gonna be long.Abyssal Alloy gets a 400% boost to armor stats, a 4x damage multiplier for melee weapons, is incredibly comfortable (beyond that of pretty much any vanilla and even many modded materials), gives a 300% immunity speed boost for beds, 300% bed rest effectiveness, doors open 2.5x as fast, and also buildings made from it get a 10x (1000%) base health multiplier.
