Roo’s Royalty Hairstyles

MOD Desc

This hair mod adds 60 new royal hairstyles (30 male, 30 female), each with a fancy flair for your most distinguished pawns.
They range from casual, yet well-kept hairstyles, to dinner-with-the-faction-leader-at-2,-destroying-a-base-by-6 hairstyles.

These hairstyles are inspired by how royalty is represented in different cultures and time periods, not just your bog-standard crowns, bows and curls! I hope you’ll have fun with this mod!

Q. Does this mod support 1.0 / 1.1?
A. Yes! This mod is compatible for both Rimworld 1.0 and Rimworld 1.1, as well as Rimworld Royalty! More about that in the next point…

Q. Can I play this mod without the Rimworld Royalty DLC?
A. Yes, though all of the features won’t be accessible as normal. Many of the more basic hairstyles can be seen on pawns from any faction- however, hairstyles with crowns, circlets and other royal accessories may only be found on pawns in Royal factions. This can be partially circumvented in vanilla Rimworld though, with mods such as Prepare Carefully, Change Dresser,Vanilla Hair Expanded or any other mods that allow you to change colonist appearances. You can access the Royalty exclusive hairstyles this way, but only to put on your own colonists, not ‘wild’ pawns. Sorry! I’m not a programmer by any stretch of the imagination, so this is the best I can do.

Q. Does this mod support Multiplayer?
A. Yes!

Q. Does this mod support Vanilla Hair Expanded?
A. Yes! Hairstyles can be changed at the barbers table. However, since all hairstyles will appear and not just those exclusive to the pawns sex, you will see some hairstyles duplicated. This shouldn’t be an issue though.

Q. Does this mod support Humanoid Alien Races 2.0?
A. Technically yes, but you might encounter some visual collision with any large Royal headpieces, such as crowns or circlets, and certain alien races. Especially if they have big ears etc. Feel free to give it a go though, you might find some funny combinations!

Q. My pawns appear with purple boxes over their heads! This is one funny looking hairstyle.
A. This is a rare error I’ve rarely encountered. Using the Vanilla Hair Expanded Barber Table should fix this. Even just interacting with it should be enough. They shouldn’t even need to change their hairstyle.

Q. The headpieces and accessories in this pack are really dark on my pawns.
A. This can be fixed by downloading Hair Modding Plus. Once enabled, the headpieces will always maintain their colour, no matter the colour of the hair!

Q. Do you take donations, or is there any way I can support you?
A. Thank you for wanting to support my trivial, yet love-filled mods! I don’t accept donations, as this is just a fun hobby for me outside of work. However, I have an Instagram Account[], where I post my art and design work, and sometimes illustrations of my Rimworld characters. It’d be great if you would take a look at it, even if you don’t follow me, it still means an awful lot.

Q. Can you do art for my mod / mod page?
A. I’m a graphic designer and illustrator by trade- hence why my mods are always…well… hair mods! I don’t know how to program a whole lot else! I’d love to work on other mods though, so if you’re looking to commission someone for mod graphics or assets for your workshop pages, please feel free to drop me a message.

Love this game. Recommend the Prepare Carefully mod, turn everyone into cannibals. Have fun murdering the traders foolish enough to turn up in ones or twos (don’t attack the larger caravans. they’ll just murder you.) Plus the added bonus of making people think twice when the first wave of people they sent at you get eaten!

A little word of warning. Sometimes, when the devs do a big update (which the devs will sometimes do), your saved games will no longer be compatible. Don’t get TOO wrapped up in the story of your magnificent cannibal clan #definitelydidn’tstarttobuildagrandmarblemausoleumcompletewithgoldensarcophagiandgoldensculptures

Great game but could be challenging. A few bad decisions could kill whole colony so you need to think about what you are doing.
One drawback is that this game is quite complex and it could be hard to find what you need to do to make something work.

One example:
I was with my caravan and one of my colonists were badly scratched (by guinea pig :D). I had a medic in the caravan so no problem… However, medic did nothing and both were just looking on a clouds while the injured one quickly loose blood.
I was trying to harvest herbs for medicine but that did not helped. At the end I was able to find solution on a wiki which was to create spot where to sleep. Yep, when you know this it’s not a problem but find this out is not that easy task sometimes.

My overall rating is positive. I recommend this game to anyone who like complex games without micro management.

This game is unequivocally the most I have ever played any game, hands down. I must have 500+ hours playing it and have had the Kickstarter and beyond versions since initial pre-alpha release.

The roleplay that you create when you have your characters is just like that feeling you had when you were a kid playing with toys. Each of them had a personality and you fought them and had them get along. It really brings the wonder of just letting fun happen organically right back to me as if I were 5 again.

If you like sci-fi, basebuilding, and/or, most clearly inspired, Firefly, then you need to get this game. I promise you you wont be disappointed. the complexity of the game may seem daunting at first, but I know that within an hour or two you will have a good hang of how to get around and the fun will just start to flow like water.
